Below is the letter (in its original version) from Patrice Loubon, director and founder of NegPos | Center d'Art et de Photographie to Mr. Policand, administrative director of the mayor's office, in charge of social action in the peripheral neighborhoods of Nîmes:
Intervención en la Parada de Autobus, perteneciente al programa público de NegPos | Centro de Arte y Fotografía.
Inmediatamente después de concluir la intervención, un ciudadano musulmán ofendido (según sus propias palabras) por las obras que acababa de pegar en la parada de bus (perteneciente al programa cultural: "Esto no es una foto #6" de NegPos | Centro de Arte y Fotografía en Nîmes). Las obras: "Amin - Netanyahu" y "Osama - Arafat" quedaron violentamente rasgadas por dicha persona, menos: "Subcomandante - Che". Su violencia estuvo manifestada exactamente en las partes donde aparecía Amin Al-Husseini sobre Benjamin Netanyahu y la de Osama Bin Ladem sobre Yasser Arafat... Las libertades no pueden ser suprimidas por otras, sean cuales sean! Y menos por actos violentos como pretexto de estas libertades, La amenaza violenta vulneran las libertades, para no hablar de la integridad personal.
Intervention at the Bus Stop, belonging to the NegPos public program | Art and Photography Center.
Immediately after concluding the intervention, a Muslim citizen was offended (in his own words) by the works that he had just posted at the bus stop (belonging to the cultural program: "This is not a photo #6" by NegPos | Art Center and Photography in Nîmes). The works: "Amin - Netanyahu" and "Osama - Arafat" were violently torn by said person, less: "Deputy Commander - Che." Its violence was manifested exactly in the parts where Amin Al-Husseini appeared on Benjamin Netanyahu and that of Osama Bin Ladem on Yasser Arafat... The freedoms cannot be suppressed elsewhere! We are subject to violent acts as a pretext for these freedoms. The threat of violence to liberties does not undermine personal integrity.

"El artista revisa archivos y obtiene los mejores perfiles de los rostros de personalidades contemporáneas, mujeres y hombres que ejercieron la política, el pensamiento social, la filosofía, la economía, que hicieron la guerra o clamaron por la paz. Todos ellos, de manera global, impactaron nuestro tiempo.
Con paciencia y rigor analógicos imprime estos rostros sobre papel fotográfico y enfrenta imágenes, lucha con ángulos para crear puzzles de solo dos piezas, en los cuales compatibiliza un mismo gesto que subyace en dos personajes, muchas veces portavoces de “signo” políticamente opuesto.
Al formar estos híbridos, persigue demostrar la continuidad de uno en el “otro”. Las facciones de este nuevo ser, mitad este―mitad aquel, son, al mismo tiempo, “perfectamente posibles” [2], totalmente creíbles. En cada nueva imagen que construye, demuestra la polisemia que subyace tras ciertas actuaciones y poses que supusimos únicas y que, con frecuencia, asumimos como nuestras.
El retrato construido, más psicológico que físico, actúa como un resorte ante el cual nuestra sensibilidad y convicciones no logran permanecer indiferentes, ya que el resultado visual porta, a manera de un imán de polos potentes, toda la carga de sentimientos –simpatía o desprecio– que nos generaron los protagonistas.
Nos molesta ver a nuestros paradigmas fusionados en esa unidad y lucha de contrarios representacional con aquellos que identificamos alguna vez como enemigos, pero sobre todo, ante este retrato recreado, nos enfrentamos a la sospecha de que respiramos en la trampa de prestidigitadores atrapasueños, que asistimos a una performance convincente puesta en escena una y otra vez a lo largo de los tiempos."

"The artist reviews archives and obtains the best profiles of the faces of contemporary personalities, women and men who practiced politics, social thought, philosophy, economics, who waged war or called for peace. All of them, in a globally, they impacted our time.
With patience and analog rigor he prints these faces on photographic paper and confronts images, fighting with angles to create puzzles of only two pieces, in which he makes compatible the same gesture that underlies two characters, often spokespersons of politically opposite "signs."
By forming these hybrids, he seeks to demonstrate the continuity of one in the “other.” The features of this new being, half this, half that, are, at the same time, “perfectly possible” [2], totally credible. In each new image that he constructs, he demonstrates the polysemy that underlies certain performances and poses that we assumed were unique and that we often assumed to be our own.
The constructed portrait, more psychological than physical, acts as a spring before which our sensitivity and convictions cannot remain indifferent, since the visual result carries, like a magnet of powerful poles, the entire load of feelings - sympathy or contempt. – that the protagonists generated for us.
It bothers us to see our paradigms fused in that representational unity and struggle of opposites with those we once identified as enemies, but above all, faced with this recreated portrait, we face the suspicion that we breathe in the trap of conjurers dreamcatchers, that we assist to a compelling performance staged again and again throughout the ages."
