El proyecto: "Rostros presidenciales" surge de la Serie: "Síndrome de Proteus". Una serie que comencé a finales del 2015 y que se mantiene en proceso, en la cual investigo cómo grandes personalidades de la Historia y el presente han coincidido, casi miméticamente, en posturas y expresiones ante la cámara fotográfica, sin importar la época, el lugar o sus ideales políticos e ideológicos. Personalidades que se han convertido en figuras icónicas dentro del imaginario colectivo tanto local, regional como universalmente. En este sentido, me propuse realizar un proyecto desde una mirada crítica que pusiera en cuestión estas personalidades. La obra consiste en la utilización de la técnica del collage como recurso post-fotográfico a partir de imágenes de archivo de figuras icónicos de la Historia para crear nuevos rostros, empleando el principio del origami al doblar las fotografías de estas figuras y superponiéndolas sobre otras, corrompiendo los rostros originales y creando otros irreconocibles, desconocidos, pero posibles. Expresiones psicológicas donde se trasciende la personalidad de las partes. Síndrome de Proteus es una patología congénita que se caracteriza por la deformación paulatina del organismo, y que a su vez, hace alusión al Dios griego Proteo, el cual podía mutar y asumir múltiples formas para no ser descubierto.
En este sentido, “Rostros presidenciales” consiste en un recorrido por la historia y fotografía presidencial de diferentes países que ha comenzado con Estados Unidos (2022-?) y Francia (2023-?); y que continuará con España, Inglaterra, Rusia y China. Mediante la técnica del collage fotográfico serán combinados de forma cronológica los presidentes de cada país antes mencionado, es decir, el presidente #1 con el presidente #2, el #2 con el #3 y así sucesivamente hasta llegar al actual. La última pieza siempre mostrará el rostro del presidente actual a la mitad esperando ser combinado con su sucesor, es decir, cada nuevo mandato presidencial se incorporará un nuevo rostro a la obra que estará compuesto por el presidente saliente y el presidente electo. El proyecto estará en proceso durante toda mi vida y en caso de adquirirlo alguna colección, institución o museo se adjuntará un documento notarial dejando constancia de mi compromiso de irle incorporando nuevas piezas a la obra durante toda mi vida creativa.

The project: "Presidential Faces" arises from the Series: "Proteus Syndrome". A series that I started at the end of 2015 and that remains in progress, in which I investigate how great personalities from History and the present have coincided, almost mimetically, in postures and expressions before the camera, regardless of the time, the place. or their political and ideological ideals. Personalities who have become iconic figures within the collective imagination both locally, regionally and universally. In this sense, I set out to carry out a project from a critical perspective that would question these personalities. The work consists of the use of the collage technique as a post-photographic resource based on archival images of iconic figures from History to create new faces, using the principle of origami by folding photographs of these figures and superimposing them on others. corrupting the original faces and creating other unrecognizable ones, unknown, but possible. Psychological expressions where the personality of the parties is transcended. Proteus syndrome is a congenital pathology that is characterized by the gradual deformation of the organism, and which, in turn, refers to the Greek God Proteus, who could mutate and assume multiple forms so as not to be discovered.
In this sense, “Presidential Faces” consists of a journey through the history and presidential photography of different countries that began with the United States (2022-?) and France (2023-?); and that will continue with Spain, England, Russia and China. Using the photographic collage technique, the presidents of each country mentioned above will be combined chronologically, that is, president #1 with president #2, #2 with #3 and so on until reaching the current one. The last piece will always show the face of the current president in half waiting to be combined with his successor, that is, each new presidential term a new face will be incorporated into the work that will be composed of the outgoing president and the president-elect. The project will be in process throughout my life and if it is acquired by a collection, institution or museum, a notarized document will be attached stating my commitment to incorporating new pieces into the work throughout my creative life.
